Day Six, Task 4  .9 August 2009

Jungman Choi made fartest distance on the day 69. 950 km . Only 5 pilot have distance more than 40 km. separation achievement by the distance of pilot on this task.
The  wide cyrus cloud cover above around Wonogiri  and Solo, cause the heating terrain would be late.
Windows was opened 11:00 but no pilot moving to take off. They was wait to expect for better condition.
12:30 some pilot did starts to toke off when cloud  cyrus broke. The light condition made them to show the skill and stay on the air. Long effort to catch  thermal is apart of the game on this task. Some pilot waiting to saw them . and finally thermal broke on the right side of take off area.  some of them catch it and climb up on the coloumn.
Others pilot  try to take off but some off them was fail, cause wind is very light. When the breeze came from lake, they easy made toke off, but thermal was decay and difficult to climb up more than 800 mtr. They only soaring and wait the forming of thermal, but the time was late.

Day Five,   8 August 2009

Indonesia Fartest distanced record was broke  today at wonogiri site.  Korean Pilot Coi Keun Haa made distanced 75.07 km, direction to north east  close to Ngawi town.
In the mean time, Indonesian Pilot Moch Ali made distance 65.87 km direct to the north close to Mantingan  and he was bite Indonesian record holder 62 km last year by Elisa Manueke.
 
Wind condition on task 4  lighter than before. Strong wind from south Gadjah Mungkur  would be late. Window opened at 11:00 but the thermal very light ,pre flyer  difficult to climb up, pilots waiting to  take off around 30 minute. Some pilot started  at this condition  and some of them   did relaunch.
At 12:00 wind and thermal increased, Some Pilot toke accasion to start because indicated strong wind would come  showed by water line  at lake  around 4 km southest.
Some pilot  catch thermal  on the  south face ridge and follow by other .
Some of them climb up to cloud base and  over the Hill go to the north.
Cumulus cloud  street  5 km north of Take off  waiting the pilots to dance with him.

2.    Moch Ali – Gin / Bomerang 5 (INA/Jatim), 65,87 km.
3.    Yeol Ihm – Gin / Boomerang Sport (KOR), 62,36 km.
4.    Elisa Manueke – Gin / Boomerang 5 (INA/Jateng), 62,33 km.

Day four,   7 August 2009

No task today. Caused of the wind speed  increase  at 11 00. over 25 km/hour.


Day three   6 August 2009

After morning briefing, window was open at 11.00 am, the wind meter showed the speed on 8 – 12 km/hour. Pilots were starting to take off. First gaggle, about 10 pilots had taken off. Wind speed increased followed by gusty on 14 – 18 km/hour. Pilots had to be more dexterous to keep their height, even though they were loosing their height occasionally.

Pilots scattered and keep holding on the air, soaring and taking their time to catching on the best thermal spot to made long distance XC. Coincide with thermal formed, wind was stronger than before. Pilots had to race in order to climb the thermal up and maintained their height on the same time.

The wind speed was on 24 km/hour at 01.00 pm and it was worst on  peak 37 km/hour at 03.00 pm.  Windows was  stop by meet director.

The farthest distance on 2nd day was 63 km made by Jungman choi ( KOR ) 66 km, followed by Andika Munir ( INA ) 63.99 km , Lilik Darmono ( INA ) 63 km.

Day two   5 August  2009

Today, the cloud was in process to develop thermal. Morning pilot briefing started at 10.30 am and window was open at 11.00 am. The thermal was slowly to developed and the wind still weak, it caused most pilots was waiting for their own best time to fly. Some pilot who was flying earlier had boom out and they make relaunched.

The thermal cloud was breaking up at 01.00 pm. Pilots was taking their opportunity to climb it up even it’s quite hard to do. They made gaggles. First gaggle, as an upper level flies through the west, followed by some pilot flew to the north in the same time. Average altitude that pilots could make was 1900 m.

The wind increased stronger from the Gajah Mungkur lake at 3.30 pm. Obviously, it made some pilot was flying in the strong condition. There were 80 % of pilots who could make cross country.

 Day One  4 August 2009

Practise Day, the wind calm in the mid day, and thermal was late rising and be tricky thermal to catch on the south face ridge.
some pilot catch thermal on the right side of take off area and found it until cloudbase. the  beautiful cup cloud forming on the north face hill, and some pilot accelerated to there.
Some Korean  and Indonesian pilot did distance  around 50 km.
